About MES

The McGill Entrepreneurs’ Society is affiliated to the MUS (Management Undergraduate Society), which is part of Desautels Faculty of Management at McGill University.

MES activities are split up into three branches:

  • Entrepreneurship Community Reach – Giving you the opportunity to network with the vibrant startup & entrepreneurial community of Montreal. We receive guest speakers on a monthly basis, organize the annual “Startup Career Fair”, the McGill Entrepreneurship Week and can hook you up with pretty much any organization supporting entrepreneurs in MTL.
  • Competition – We form teams with our members to compete in Entrepreneurship/Business Competitions around the world: 1st place @ London School of Economics’ entrepreneurship competition (London, UK) in 2009 and 3rd   place in 2010. Semi-final round of the Societé Generale Citizen Act (Paris, France) in 2010; MES also organizes its own annual outdoor Entrepreneurship Competition, “The Challenge”, based on the Apprentice.
  • Micro-Businesses Development – We help you meet the right people to start your business and/or develop whatever project/event/fundraiser you want with us (examples of previous MES micro businesses: Web development & design services, Art exhibitions, Speed Dating events…); This year MES is also starting a junior consultant group for small businesses in Montreal.

The club’s mandate is to:

  1. Promote entrepreneurship among students and members of the Montreal Community
  2. Support students with their entrepreneurial ventures by means of advising, funds, bank account, networking opportunities and much more
  3. Network with local business organizations and make their resources available to club members
  4. Give anyone with a project in mind the opportunity to form their team, take a leadership position, and bring their idea to an end

Membership is open to everyone from any faculty.
