The goal of the Micro Business unit consists in providing financial assistance, marketing services and networking opportunities to McGill students that have a project idea in mind and want to make it happen. Each Micro Business is autonomous in its decision making, however their financial operations are audited by MES – it is very much like running your own real small business, and we’re here to help. Once your idea has been approved by MES, you become a MES project manager and start building your team. Being a project manager is a great experience, it gives you real life experience on leading a team, getting organized, forming a strategy, finding funds, promote your idea, and getting really passionate about it. It is an amazing way to get involved in McGill.

Each Micro business should be thought of as a project. It doesn’t have to be profit oriented and a project can be anything really! What interests you, interests us!

Current entrepreneurial projects:

• BubbledUp Web Services Group provides website design and development, updates or redesigns of current websites, as well as hosting to the McGill community: students, clubs and professors; and beyond to small business in Montreal. We have created an environment where McGill students interested in web design and development can now deal with real customers and solve real problems. For example, the MES website is made possible in collaboration with BubbledUp. Join the BubbledUp Micro Business to learn how to create beautiful functional websites.
• Visual Impact: Bringing McGill talents together for a 2 day art exhibition.
• Speed Dating: Speed dating event to fund raise for L.O.V.E., Leave Out Violence Everywhere.
